About Ian

I have been working as a commercial artist for the past 32 years. This “career” initially started as a hobby, but quickly developed in to a full-time occupation. I specialise in original commissioned art paintings or illustrations. These are highly detailed and based upon photographic images that I either personally take or from images that have been supplied to me by other selected photographers.

Throughout my life, I have always had a very passionate affinity with all aspects of motorsport.

I have come to realise that when you spend such a long time doing something “unique”, you build up a multitude of specialised knowledge and over the years, have access to an ever-expanding network of like-minded people that have also spent their entire lives immersed in all aspects of motorsport.

Due to the close-knit nature of motorsport, it attracts the interest of people from all walks of life. Over the years, this has led me to accept commissions and recommendations from other aspects of “transport” (apart from Motorsport) - road cars, aviation, motorbikes and more recently I have diversified into individual artworks of “people and pets”.

Examples of my art (whether original art paintings, limited-edition giclée style prints or large format photography) can be found exhibited and displayed at various motorsport events and race circuits throughout the UK, Europe and the rest of the World.

My artwork is produced in a selection of finishes and various sizes to suit all budgets and environments. As well as unique, individually commissioned artwork, I also produce high quality (Giclée type) prints from certain artworks in (very) limited-edition quantities. At the present moment, depending on workload, an individual “piece” usually takes 6-8 weeks (on average) from the commission date to completion. During this process, as far as time allows, I try to personally oversee all aspects of the work and am usually available to explain each stage – from start, to completion and delivery.

I am based at an Art Studio, located in South Staffordshire, which is fully equipped to take on most art projects.

Enjoy your visit to my website – the content, including new products and examples is changing all the time. If you would like any further information or to commission and individual artwork of your own,  please don’t hesitate to contact me personally on the contact details below?

Thank you for your time and I look forward to hearing from you soon.
